WATCH: Aussie Firecracker Courtney Barnett Slays on ‘Saturday Night Live’ Season Finale

May 22, 2016 Albumism Staff

Saturday Night Live concluded its 41st season with a bang last night, with dynamic Portlandia star and SNL alum Fred Armisen gracing the stage alongside musical guest Courtney Barnett. The Melbourne, Australia based singer-songwriter was in top form, as she and her band performed “Nobody Really Cares If You Don't Go to the Party” and “Pedestrian at Best” from her universally applauded 2015 debut album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit. If you haven’t discovered the undeniable charms of Barnett’s songs already, let this serve as your impetus to explore her music further.

Watch Barnett and her bandmates’ kick-ass performances in full below, and do yourself a favor and add her debut album to your collection now. Plus check out a bonus behind-the-scenes clip of Barnett attempting to enlighten SNL cast member Bobby Moynihan with a crash course in Australian slang.

[Note: NBC-hosted Saturday Night Live video clips may not be available to view in select countries outside of the United States.]
