A recently reunited and reinvigorated Lush, one of the most acclaimed and beloved bands of the 1990s, is back with new music after a twenty year hiatus. Set to arrive in stores April 22, the London band’s forthcoming Blind Spot EP marks their first new recording since Lovelife, their third full-length studio album.
Earlier today, the group unveiled the sprawling “Out of Control,” the first single and video from the 4-track EP. Upon even the most cursory listen to the song’s opening moments reveals that the trio comprised of Miki Berenyi, Emma Anderson, Phil King, and the newly welcomed Justin Welch (formerly of Elastica) have lost none of their penchant for meticulously crafted, melodically rich dream pop. Indeed, “Out of Control” instantly reminds us of just how much Lush’s music has been missed over the past two decades.
Enjoy the video below, join us in counting down the days until Blind Spot’s release, and try to catch Lush on their North American tour stops later this year.
