Brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence have taken a brief break from their current whirlwind world tour to deliver a special aural surprise for Disclosure fans. Released today as the first proper follow-up to last year’s magnificent sophomore album Caracal, the Moog For Love EP finds the acclaimed UK electro duo tapping into their deep house roots and soul inspirations for a trio of bona fide dancefloor bangers.
The sibling pair debuted the storming lead track “BOSS” on stage during their Wild Life Festival headlining gig in Brighton (UK) this past weekend, and shared the title track, a collaboration with British DJ Eats Everything, on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show yesterday. Appropriately enough, the latter features a looped sample of George Benson’s 1980 vocal rendition of saxophonist James Moody’s 1949 jazz standard “Moody’s Mood for Love.” The soulful “Feel Like I Do” rounds out the 3-song effort by lifting Al Green’s 1972 classic “I’m Still in Love with You” to glorious effect.
