More about Kyle:
Before the ripe age of 5, Kyle formed an intense love and appreciation of music. Due to an Aunt on his mother's side of the family, he was introduced to a highly eclectic and generally open-minded attitude towards music, and what it can do. His mother's favorite story to tell about him is that he learned to read by analyzing the lyrics within album inserts while listening to the music. Kyle’s parents took notice right away, and he was rewarded with new music of his choice (within reason for a 5-year-old) if he excelled in school, did his chores, etc.
Born and raised in Southern New Jersey in a suburb of Philadelphia in 1986, Kyle has lived a life encompassed by his unending love of music, and how it's shaped him to be the person he is today. Due to his unique location between Philly and New York City, he has been very spoiled in that he’s been to many concerts and has rubbed elbows with many different kinds of people.
During his middle school years, Kyle began to take creative writing seriously. It only made sense to him later on that two of his greatest passions in life (the written/printed word and love for music) went hand in hand, and thus he began moonlighting in music journalism. While being compensated one day for the work would obviously be welcoming, he does it primarily for the love of the complete thought. It is a true hobby, and one he gets great satisfaction from.
While currently single and without kids, Kyle tends to live vicariously through his two older siblings and the many nieces and nephews they've brought to this world. As a proud uncle, he is waiting for the day when they are all collectively old enough so he can truly introduce them to the vast, diverse, and beautiful world of music. It's the best and most meaningful gift he believes he can give. But for now, Power Ranger toys and Easy-Bake Ovens will do.
“Collectively, Albumism’s contributors are my kind of music fans,” Kyle explains. “Our tastes may vary to absurd extremes, but one thing we all have in common is the love of writing and the love of music.” Amen to that!
